The Crime Rate Feature (CRF) estimates the number of crimes per 1,000 residents at any U.S. location, providing a tangible measure of crime risk. Unlike relative risk scores, CRF offers population-adjusted crime rates that help you understand the actual volume of expected incidents.
Covering over 220,000 Census block groups, CRF is updated twice yearly to track changes over time and identify trends. Developed by CAP Index’s experts, it uses a rigorous methodology analyzing local and adjacent crime data for accurate estimates.
Used alongside CAP Scores and the Crime Incident Feature, CRF delivers comprehensive insights that empower smarter security decisions, resource planning, and clear communication of risk.
