1. National CAP Index Scores

The National CAP Index Score provides an overall view of your crime risk. It uses a sophisticated model to interpret all the individual crime scores, giving you a single metric that reflects your business’s exposure to different types of crime. CAP Scores for a specific business are calculated using CAP Index Scoring Methods, which account for how far offenders may travel to reach a target and how attractive different targets are for different types of crime. Each method defines a “sphere of influence” to assess risk, with the inner part of the sphere focusing on nearby neighborhoods and carrying the most weight, and the outer part capturing more distant areas with less influence on the overall score. 2. Demographic Data

3. Point of Interest (POI) Data
| Know what’s around—and how it affects your risk. Nearby locations can influence crime risk in surprising ways. CAP Index identifies POIs that may increase or reduce risk, from police and fire stations to bars, casinos, pawn shops, and shelters.
You receive a table with full on type of POI, distance from your location, and total similar POIs within your MAX range distance. In map view, you can also see specific POI icons placed on the map for visual clarity. These insights bring added nuance to your CAP Scores, helping you see the bigger picture and fine-tune your site-level security plans. Available only with Premium & Premium Plus orders. |
