Since 2023, CAP Index’s Research & Innovation team has focused on advancing the science behind crime risk assessment. Reinforcing CAP’s academic origins, having been founded by professors and academic researchers, the team draws on their collective expertise in criminology, sociology, geospatial analysis, and practical experience with law enforcement agencies. Team leaders Dr. Grant Drawve and Dr. Casey Harris, both PhDs and recent professors and researchers in their respective fields, bring a deep understanding of academic principles to drive the team’s efforts to push boundaries and deliver ever-more accurate, actionable data.
We are now focusing our experts on specific areas to further enhance the precision and impact of our solutions. This specialization ensures that our work remains grounded in both cutting-edge research and practical application, reinforcing CAP Index’s leadership in crime risk analytics.
Dr. Grant Drawve – Vice President of Geospatial Crime Solutions
Grant will lead CAP’s Geospatial Crime Solutions team, bringing enhanced leadership and expertise in the intersection of geography and crime science. His role focuses on leveraging spatial analysis and advanced crime mapping techniques to develop innovative solutions for understanding and mitigating crime risks across diverse environments.
Key areas of focus for Grant will include:
- Overseeing geospatial analytics to refine location-specific risk assessments.

Dr. Casey Harris – Vice President of Crime Risk Modeling
Casey will lead CAP’s efforts to refine and expand the statistical models that underpin our crime risk products. With expertise in advanced statistical techniques, custom client-driven modeling, and risk assessment, Casey will ensure CAP’s methodologies remain at the forefront of predictive analytics.
