Outsmart Crime with Intelligent Crime Risk Data
For many companies, the emphasis on crime risk assessment has historically been focused on their physical locations – stores, restaurants, distribution centers, and office facilities. This makes sense given that these locations are where the vast majority of their employees, customers, and product come together. As retailers and restaurants have had to quickly adjust to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated shut down orders, the emphasis is quickly pivoting to delivery operations and in-home services.
As the number of delivery drivers and in-home workers continues to grow, so does the risk of crime and loss while en route and at the doorstep. CAP Index’s data and reports help organizations understand the risks associated with delivery so proper protocols and protections can be considered to protect both workers and products.
CAP Index can help your organization understand the risk of crime not only for a targeted address but also from every point in its vicinity, so you can take knowledgeable actions to shield your people and inventory when off-site.
CAP Index’s CRIMECAST Reports and Data can help retailers understand the risks your delivery drivers and products face as they make their way from your stores to the customer’s doorstep.
The CAP Index Scoring System
The CAP Index Scoring System provides a relative measure of the likelihood that crime and loss will occur at any location. Use our intelligent crime risk data to identify and manage the risks associated with your deliveries to ensure your products and employees are safe while in transit and on the doorstep.
CAP Scores are based on a scale of 0–2000, with 0 representing the lowest risk and 100 as the average risk.

Our property selectors are not discouraged from a site just because it receives a high score. What we do is issue every store – all of them – a security classification. The classification determines how we allocate our security resources to that store.

In industries where there is high public contact and a customer is coming to our location (such as retail), why would you leave it to chance when planning security when there is an easy, affordable tool? When investing a million dollars on a location, what is this small charge compared to what it may cost you when you get sued?
