CAP Index uses data-driven approaches to answer meaningful questions for specific industry groups and their member corporations. Past research and analyses have examined the efficacy of particular security measures, ways to share loss and incident information among corporations to identify industry-wide data trends, and ways to enhance relationships with government and law enforcement agencies.
Some of our most recent industry research and analysis work includes:
American Bankers Association
CAP Index provides data analytics and quarterly industry reports to American Bankers Association Bank Capture subscribers. Developed in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), ABA Bank Capture is a collaborative initiative led by the ABA, an advisory board of member bankers, and law enforcement. ABA Bank Capture is a data-sharing platform for banks to report and analyze their robbery and other bank crime data.
Food Marketing Institute
CAP has provided statistical analysis for the Food Marketing Institute’s Employee and Customer Safety Metrics Survey covering workers’ compensation and general liability bodily injury claims. We have been the exclusive data partner to FMI due to our extensive industry experience as well as our expertise and familiarity with the security and liability issues faced by FMI member companies.
Loss Prevention Research Council
The Loss Prevention Research Council has typically done much of their own shrink/loss research and included our CAP Index Scores in their analyses. Recently, we worked directly with four major retailers and the LPRC on a preliminary assessment of temporal and spatial robbery patterns across US regions and Metropolitan Statistical Areas.
Restaurant Loss Prevention & Security Association
CAP Index has a long history of working with the Restaurant Loss Prevention & Security Association. Recent examples of our collaboration include multiple robbery and burglary analysis reports that were presented at their annual conferences.
UK Fashion Forum
CAP Index partnered with the Fashion Forum in the UK back in 2013 to analyze a survey of its membership. The study was focused on crime and loss affecting retailers as well as loss prevention strategies that are employed. CAP recently updated the survey and delivered 2015 results.
